I love the history of American sports but none more than baseball. It is that it has been around so long that it lends itself to the romantic notion of what it used to be or it could be. The pace of the game that allows more conversation and camaraderie than sports like football and basketball helps make the ballpark a place everyone can enjoy. It is like no other sport. Traditions have been passed down for so many years and through every ballpark. Any park you go to you can count on a 7th inning stretch and a singing of take me out to the ballpark. Aside from the national anthem other sports don't have those consistencies.
When Tom and I met it came up in conversation that we both had the same goal, to see every baseball park and go to Cooperstown. We agreed that to reach this goal a park only counted if we go together. So the parks I had already been to didn't count for this project. We got started as soon as baseball season began. The parks we have been to are listed in the order we have attended games. I am working on getting stories posted of all the parks we have seen so far. Hopefully we will also make it to a few spring training camps since we have family in Phoenix, AZ and Fort Myers, FL.
